Silo eyes girls basketball state title
It's been quite the year for for the Silo Lady Rebels athletic program. The softball team won it's first state title this fall, and the girls basketball team looks to follow suit.
The Lady Rebels have almost run the table this season, with just two losses on the year. They may be a young team, with eight underclassmen playing big roles, but they're playing like a group of veterans, which is right where they want to be.
"There's been times when you could tell we weren't ready for high school basketball yet, because we are really young, but as the season went on, we just started clicking together," said Silo point guard Cassidy Harman. "A lot of players have stepped up."
"We work really hard on our defense, we probably spend most of our time on defense," said Silo forward Teeronie McCann. "We're constantly working hard on that."
"They want to win. They want to be a part of something that's winning," said Silo head coach Ty Harman. "They're used to winning in softball, they want to win in basketball now. They're just great kids that will put the team in front of them, we've had five different people lead us in scoring this year."
Silo will play Hartshorne at Mustang on Thursday. Tipoff is set for 3:30
