The Davis Wolves were driving deep into the playoffs when they faced Bethany in the 2005 Class 2A State semifinals.
Davis was facing one of the best teams in the state, but Bethany had not seen anyone quite like Davis quarterback LeQuentin Black.
The Davis signal caller was quick, fast, and often, he was gone. LeQuentin had touchdown runs of 67 yards and 78 yards, both for touchdowns. He also had a game preserving interception in the endzone as a defensive back in this game.
Davis scored all 20 of their points in the 2nd half of a 20-14 win over the Bronchos. They would end up losing in the 2A title game that year but Jody Weber would end up winning two titles later, in 2013 and 2014. His father, Joe Weber, won titles in 1990 and 1995.
This was an impressive display in the semifinals against a quality opponent.
