Going into the final week of the season, the Tigers were 15-0 with just Boling between them, and a state championship.
Gunter would come out of the gate with guns a blazing. Senior quarterback Trey Carr would run for 105 yards. and a touchdown.
The M.V.P. of the game was senior running back Colson Stovall, who put on a clinic. Stovall ran for 180 yards and 4 touchdowns.
There were also a couple of young names we would hear for the next several years. Peyton Lowe was just a freshman, but would have six tackles, and a 17 yard catch. Lowe would be named defensive player of the game.
Sophomore Dylan Jantz would later put the game on ice with a rushing touchdown of his own.
The Gunter defense would not allow a single point, the only Boling score would come on a kickoff.
Gunter would win 43-7, it's first football state title, but it would just be the start of a dominating run.
