Sports 12 Rewind Legends: Crystal Robinson
Crystal Robinson made it crystal clear that she was the best basketball player ever to come through Texoma.
In the early 1990's, if you were a fan of Atoka basketball, or basketball in general, you had to see Crystal Robinson. She was by far the best player in the state and led Atoka to the Class 3A State Championship while averaging over 43 points per game.
Many consider Robinson to be the best player ever to come out of the state of Oklahoma. She was a Parade All-American and unstoppable on the court.
Robinson could have played college hoops anywhere and had originally picked Louisiana Tech. She chose to come back home and play at Southeastern Oklahoma State, where she quickly became the all-time scoring leader. She set a mark that will very likely never be broken, and did it in 3 1/2 seasons following the transfer.
She averaged 27 points, 10 rebounds and 6 assists a game at SOSU.. She was inducted into the NAIA hall of fame.
Robinson would go on to have a long career in the WNBA. She played for the New York Liberty and Washington Mystics. She would later make several coaching stops from the high school level to the WNBA.
