After a tremendous career at Ada High School, Jeremy Shockey continued his success all the way to the Super Bowl, twice.
The Ada Cougars had a lot of great players in 1998, but it was hard to miss Jeremy Shockey. He played a lot at receiver and outside linebacker. He caught 50 passes his senior year for over 1,100 yards. He scored 9 touchdowns that year, was named all-state and led Ada to the state semifinals. He was a part of Ada's latest state title team in 1996.
After high school, Shockey landed with the University of Miami, where he blossomed into a star tight end for the Hurricanes. Shockey caught 10 touchdown passes at Miami.
He was drafted in the first round by the New York Giants with the 14th overall pick. He had a great NFL career with four trips to the Pro Bowl, and became the league's highest paid tight end in 2005. He was a two time Super Bowl champion, winning one with the Giants and one with the Saints. He played six seasons in New York, three in New Orleans and one with Carolina. Shockey ended up with 37 touchdowns and over 6,000 receiving yards in his NFL career.
