The Pottsboro Cardinals had already tied school history by making it to the state semi-finals for just the second time, but they had their sights set on making school history by making it to the the state title game for the first time.
Taking on Brock in 2019, a team who was the state runner-up the year before, Pottsboro brought it down to the final seconds in a one-point ball game.
The Cardinals had a great game on offense with the passing and running game both working well, but it was the defense that made the biggest splash.
The play of the game came when Tyler Farris made the game-sealing interception with less than a minute left. Pottsboro would win 36-35, putting them in the state championship game for the first time ever.
