The Rattan Rams capped off a dramatic and delayed state baseball tournament with championship in 2013 against Roff.
Rattan trailed the Tigers, 3-1 going into the 7th inning. Rattan scored two runs in the 7th, and put two more on the board in the 8th inning to win the state championship game, 5-3.
Due to late start to the state tournament, Rattan star senior Brandon Jones was unable to play in this game because he had to report for basic training. The tournament started a month later than usual in 2013, after Wright City had challenged an OSSAA ruling that they would be ineligible to compete due to playing too many regular season games.
The tournament was finally played in the second week of June, with Wright City finally being allowed to play. Rattan emerged as the champion after the extremely late start and late inning heroics in the final inning of the tournament.
