Sports 12 Rewind: Thackerville plays in first state championship

In 2008, the Thackerville Wildcats made it to the state championship game in football, which was the first time any team had made it to the state finals in school history.

The Wildcats played Shattuck, a team who had won the Class C state title in each of the 5 years before. Shattuck would end up winning that game 68-44.

At the time, Hunter McCage played quarterback, and is now the head coach for the football team.

Thackerville would end with a school-best record of 13-1. It is still the only time a team from Thackerville has made it to the state championship game.
