It was a big day for Texas Rangers slugger Shin-Soo Choo. When the 35 year old stepped to the plate in the ninth inning of Sunday's ball game, he stared Rangers franchise history in the eye, and capitalized.
Choo reached base for a Texas record 47th game in a row. Passing Julio Franco for longest on base streak. With a knack for the dramatic, Choo beat out an infield single to break the record.
But the day would only get better for the left handed batter. Choo was named to his first M.L.B All-Star game in his 13 year career.
Choo is the only player representing the Texas Rangers at the 2018 All-Star Game, which will be held July 17th in Washington D.C.
