Van Alstyne rolls out for State

The Van Alstyne Panthers packed their bags and loaded the bus for the state baseball tournament on Thursday.

The Panthers are hoping to win two more games this weekend and bring home the Class 3A state championship. They will play in the state semifinals against Blacno in Round Rock on Friday at noon.

The Panthers had a big send-off in front of all of their fans on Thursday morning at Forest Moore Park in Van Alstyne. Tons of family, friends, and fans turned out to see-off their favorite baseball team.

"We're excited," shortstop Samuel Tormos said. "We've been playing for it all year. It just feels good to get there. We're going to do our best to win a state championship for Van Alstyne."

"We're just kind of enjoying it right now," second baseman Nathan Cuthbertson said. "Since we have a long time until we play. We're just kind of soaking in the moment."
