BENNINGTON, Okla. -- Family and friends are mourning after a Hugo woman and her unborn baby were killed in a car crash Wednesday.

Shawnlynn Pool was 21-years-old, engaged to be married and nine months pregnant with a baby girl.

"She was my future daughter-in-law and that was my grandbaby," Iantha Heady said. "And seeing my son this upset, it's just very hard."

Pool and her unborn child were killed in a car crash Wednesday afternoon.

Her fiance, 24-year-old Jonathan Heady, was driving her home from a doctor's appointment in Durant.

The crash happened off Highway 70 just east of Bennington.

Troopers say a box truck heading west collided with Heady's eastbound pickup truck.

Pool and her unborn baby were pronounced dead at a local hospital.

"Shawnlynn was a wonderful mother," Ianthe Heady said. "She was a good woman."

Heady and the driver of the box truck, 37-year-old John Weaver of Hendrix, OK, were taken to the hospital for non-life threatening injuries.

Pool's loved ones have expressed their condolences on social media, and to her family that means a lot.

"We've been getting phone calls and text messages," Iantha Heady said. "I want to thank the EMS that helped out and the Durant hospital."

Troopers are still investigating the crash.
