CARTER COUNTY, OK -- The mother of the man who authorities say was the last person seen with two missing people in Carter County appeared in court Thursday afternoon.

Melissa Nipp pleaded guilty back in March to DUI, firearm, and drug charges. She was in a Carter County court Thursday for a sentencing but the judge continued the case until September 4th.

Wilson police say Nipp was arrested in January after shots were fired at Dillard and Ridge Road, just east of Wilson.

Her son, James Conn Nipp, pleaded guilty to eluding police earlier this week and received ten years in prison and ten years probation.

Troopers say Nipp was the last person to see Molly Miller and Colt Haynes, who were passengers during athe chase back in July.
