The Austin College women’s soccer team got on the board early and kept right on scoring on Saturday with 10 different players each netting at least one goal in a 15-0 victory over Dallas Christian College. The ’Roos are now 5-0 on the year.
Lauren Scott got things started just 40 seconds into the game off of a feed from Nicole Breckling and less than a minute later Ali Ryan tallied off an assist from Andrea Schneider to make it 2-0. Scott found Shelley Casey for another goal in the 12th minute, Mackenzie Lund scored in the 20th minute and Gabby Mavelian scored off a Chelsea Parker assist at the 38:26 mark and Emily Brzuzy tallied just over a minute later to make it 6-0 at the half.
In the second half Casey scored her second goal of the game off a feed from Emma Treu in the 47th minute and then Treu scored two quick goals of her own over the next 10 minutes to make it a 9-0 game. Parker tallied on a feed from Ryan at the 64:00 minute mark and Ryan scored again a minute and a half later to make it 11-0. Maddy Millender scored in the 75th minute and Schneider scored two goals with another tally from Lund in between to make it a 15-0 final.
Ryan, Schneider, Treu and Lund all had two goals and an assist and Casey had two goals in the game. The ’Roos owned a 76-1 shot advantage in the match with DCC keeper Grace Stapleton making 24 saves while Kaitlin Elledge and Emily Brockette teamed up for the shutout.
Austin College starts Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference play next weekend when they host Birmingham-Southern College at 2:00 p.m. on Friday and Millsaps College at noon on Sunday.
