Rangers deal for catcher Molina

The Texas Rangers have acquired catcher Bengie Molina and cash from the San Francisco Giants for reliever Chris Ray and a minor league pitcher.
Texas announced the deal Thursday. Molina is expected to join
the AL West-leading Rangers on Friday.
The 35-year-old Molina is hitting .257 with three home runs and
17 RBIs. The two-time Gold Glove winner became expendable when the
Giants recently promoted top prospect Buster Posey.
The Rangers began the season with Jarrod Saltalamacchia and
Taylor Teagarden behind the plate, but both were sent down to the
minors and their replacements haven't been much better.
The right-handed Ray is 2-0 with a 3.41 ERA in 35 games this
season. Texas also sent right-hander Michael Main to San Francisco.
