Rangers roll into second half of the season

The Texas Rangers are having arguably their best season ever, despite being in bankruptcy and on the auction block.
Texas begins play Thursday after the All-Star break 4½ games
ahead of the Los Angeles Angels in the AL West.
Even with the off-field drama and four straight losses before
the break to Baltimore, the majors' worst team, the Rangers (50-38)
have the largest lead in any of baseball's six divisions.
Manager Ron Washington says he senses confidence in his team.
