Austin College women’s basketball player Bryce Frank has been named the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Player of the Week for games played from January 4 through January 10.
Frank, a freshman forward from Granbury, averaged 18.5 points and 9.5 rebounds in a pair of wins as the ‘Roos improved to 9-4 overall and 3-0 in SCAC play. She also added 2.0 assists, 1.5 steals, and 1.0 blocks per game in victories over Southwestern and Texas Lutheran. Against TLU, Frank exploded for a career-best 28 points to lead the ‘Roos to an overtime win, which snapped a 16-game home win streak against conference opponents for the Bulldogs.
For the year, Frank is leading the ‘Roos, who have won three games in a row, with 11.9 points and 6.8 rebounds per game, and is also averaging 2.0 assists and 1.1 blocks per game on the year. Frank has scored in double figures in eight of the team’s 13 games so far this season, and is shooting 48.9% from the field on the year. She’s the second Austin College player to earn this honor so far this season, joining sophomore guard Kali Vittallo.
