Bells Lady Panthers look to continue history run

The Bells Lady Panthers made a historic run to the Regional Quarterfinals in 2015, this year their back and making history once again reaching the Regional Semis for the first time ever.

"We just wanted to go further this year and improve any way that we could," Bells Head Coach Kristina Stephens said.

"Not a lot of people thought that we could do it and here we are doing it," Bells Catcher Catie Beall said.

The key to Bells success, team chemistry.

"I mean I love the girls that I play with," Bells First Baseman Jessa Harrison said. "We all get along great and there's just good chemistry. It feels amazing."

"We work together," Stephens said. "We leave everything out on the field everyday, every practice, every game. They play with heart. That's their main thing, they play have a lot of heart."

It wasn't a walk around the bases to get to this point, Bells had to navigate through one of the toughest districts in Texas. Two of the final 16-teams left are representatives of Region II District 13.

"We saw a lot of good pitching and we had some situations on the field that we got to see," Beall said. "That helps you later down the road."

In order to continue the historic run the Lady Panthers must get by Crawford in a three game set that begins Thursday in Kennedale.

"Any team that's left right now is going to be tough," Stephens said. "We're going to have play our best. We're going to do our best. We're going to keep hitting the ball like we have been. If we keep hitting the ball and play solid defense like we have the last few games in the playoffs, we'll be good."

"They're going to be a good competition," Harrison said. "I mean if we work hard, we can take them."

Game 1 is 7 p.m. Thursday at Kennedale High School. Game 2 is 6 p.m. Friday and Game 3, if necessary, will follow Game 2 on Friday.
