Castiglione mostly mum on Oklahoma coaching search

Oklahoma athletic director Joe Castiglione
is encouraged by the reception he's receiving from candidates for
the Sooners' open basketball coaching job.
Castiglione said Thursday after a meeting of university regents
that he "really can't say anything of substance" concerning his
search to replace Jeff Capel, who was fired March 14. Castiglione
says doing so would be counterproductive to his ability to speak
with candidates.
Both he and university President David Boren hinted the search
could involve candidates whose teams still are playing, but they
declined to offer a timeline for hiring Capel's replacement. Boren
says a committee consisting of himself and three regents will
interview the finalists.
