Davis in comfort zone as Millwood comes to town

After three early losses the Davis Wolves are back where they’re most comfortable, the playoffs.

“They prepare better when they get in these situations, that’s what they like," Davis Head Coach Jody Weber said. "Believe it not it’s more fun in our locker room. They know what’s at stake. We talk about the single-elimination tournament every day.”

Davis is coming off a first round win over Lexington, 47-26. In round two the Wolves will host the 8th ranked Millwood Falcons.

Both teams have had similar paths to get to this point, both have three losses to teams either in a higher classification or ranked in the top 10. Three losses is unheard of in Davis, but they’re undefeated at home where they only played four games at during the regular season.

After their 1-3 start, Davis’ offense found its stride averaging 44-points a game in their last seven contests. Wolves Head Coach Jody Weber says they must continue that trend in order to win Friday night.

"We've got to do that old fashioned, block em',” Weber said. “We get them blocked and hold on to the football, I like our chances against anybody.”

Kickoff is set for 7:30 Friday night at Davis Football Stadium.
