The Denison Yellow Jackets are talking playoffs as we enter the final week of the regular season. They've got a must win match up with Prosper, but could use a little help if they want to keep on playing.
"We win, and Wylie wins, we're in. We win and McKinney High wins, we're in," says head coach Chad Rogers.
And that information is not lost on cornerback Reonte Ross.
"Right now we're the biggest fans Wylie and McKinney High have."
And the site of this Friday's contest is Munson Stadium, which bodes well for the Jackets. Because for them, there's no place like home.
"We're expecting a great crowd, the kids will feed off the crowd. We actually need the crowd more than ever," says Rogers.
Prosper runs the sweep option, which has worked well for them so far this season, as they've gone 5-4 after finishing 3-7 last year. But Coach Rogers and company know what they have to do to clip the Eagles' wings.
"Just gotta get to the ball, you gotta stop them, can't get a lot of room. Just speed, you've got to get to the ball. Everybody's got to get to the ball," said safety Brendon Luper.
And for the seniors, this one holds a special importance, says nose guard Bowen Kirkbride.
"This could be the last time some of us ever play football again. Just gotta go out and win."
