DENISON, TX --The Denison Yellow Jackets will try to get their first district win this week when they host McKinney.
Denison is coming off a tough district opener loss to the Lovejoy Leopards last week, falling 45-34.
The Yellow Jackets have had no problem putting points on the board this season, they're averaging 41-points per game, but they've had a tough time stopping teams. Denison's defense has given up 45-points or more in the last three games.
Head Coach Chad Rogers says that defense will have to step up against a run heavy McKinney team.
"Anytime time you face you a team that likes to run the ball like that it's a tough to just being physical," Rogers said. "They want to out physical you, so it's a challenge to our defense. Our kids have got to work on it this week and they're going to have to get their hands heavy in the dirt and stop the run."
Kickoff will be at 7:30 p.m. on Friday at Munson Stadium in Denison.
