Denison to open district play at Lovejoy

The Denison Yellow Jackets will open district play in Lovejoy on Friday night.

The Jackets started the season with a 2-1 record after getting wins over Frisco Liberty and Trinity Christian. Their only loss was state ranked Argyle in week 2.

"Win the first district ballgame and you're 1-0, so it's very important," head coach Chad Rogers said. "How you play and how you execute and the things that are coming off the open week is important because, from now on, each week you have to turn around and get ready to play."

The Jackets have had little problem putting the ball in the endzone, scoring a combined 130 points over three games.

Denison and Lovejoy will kickoff at 7:30pm on Friday night in Lovejoy.
