The East Central University women's basketball team has been picked to finish tied for fourth in the Great American Conference standings for the 2014-15 season in the annual Preseason Poll, as voted on by the league's head coaches.
The Tigers finished with 58 points in the poll, with Harding picked to repeat as champions with 99 points and nine first-place votes. ECU finished the 2013-14 season second with an overall record of 19-9 and a 13-7 mark in league games.
Arkansas Tech was third in the poll with 86 points and one first-place votes, with Southwestern Oklahoma State earning third with 85 points and one first-place vote. ECU was tied with Southeastern Oklahoma State for fourth (58 points). Southern Nazarene was picked sixth (53 points), Southern Arkansas seventh (50 points), Henderson State eighth (38 points), Ouachita Baptist ninth (37 points), Northwestern 10th (24 points) and Arkansas-Monticello 11th (17 points).
The Tigers will open the season with an exhibition game at Oral Roberts, Saturday, Nov. 8 at 2 p.m. The regular season will open on the road against Rogers State a week late (Nov. 15) at 2 p.m. in Claremore, Okla.
