Austin College football player Charles Eneh has been named the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Defensive Player of the Week for games played on Saturday, October 31, the league office has announced.
Eneh, a junior linebacker from Krum, made eight tackles – all solo stops – in a come from behind victory over Southwestern in Georgetown. The ‘Roos improved to 5-3 overall and 1-0 in SCAC play with a 20-17 victory in which Eneh made 3.0 tackles-for-loss, including a sack. For the year, Eneh is second on the team with 59 tackles and leads the ‘Roos with 9.5 tackles-for-loss and 2.5 sacks. He’s also tied for 11th in the nation with three forced fumbles.
McGee Named SCAC Defensive Player of the Week
LAWRENCEVILLE, Ga. – Austin College women’s soccer player Laura McGee has been named the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Defensive Player of the Week for matches played from Monday, October 26 through Sunday, November 1, the league office has announced.
McGee, a sophomore goalkeeper from Houston, had a strong weekend as the ‘Roos wrapped up regular season play. McGee allowed just one goal in two games in the net for Austin College, including earning a shutout victory over Centenary College. McGee made eight saves to preserve the clean sheet win, her second shutout of the year.
For the year, McGee leads the SCAC with 131 saves while starting all 18 matches for Austin College.
