Football practice begins for Oklahoma High Schools

It's the official start of football north of the Red River, with many teams across the Sooner state stepping onto the field Monday beginning their preparations for the upcoming season.

Players won’t be permitted to wear pads until Friday according to the rules of the Oklahoma Secondary School Activities Association (OSSAA).

There’s a new rule change this off-season that all coaches will have to adapt to this year, it limits players to 90-minutes of full contact a week.

Monday is the first step of many and all teams hope that final step is hoisting a gold ball. Kickoff for most teams is September 4th.
