Former Gainesville Leopard Moore named to All-Region Team for ECU

ADA - East Central University football junior David Moore leads a group of three players to earn a spot on the 2015 Don Hansen All-Super Region Three Teams released Jan. 20. Moore was the lone first team offensive pick for the Tigers and the Great American Conference.

Joining him on the lists are seniors Kevin Bowen and Jameel Whitney. Bowen was one of five GAC players named to the second team offense and Whitney was one of six named to the third team defense.

Moore adds the Don Hansen honor to his 2015 resume that included a CCCA D2 Super Region Three Second Team Offensive and All-GAC First Team selections.

The wide receiver had a record breaking season that also resulted in him being named to the All-GAC First Team. Moore became the first ECU football player to record over 1,000 receiving yards in a single season, with 1,097. He also set the single season receiving TD (13) and career receiving TD (25) records for the Tigers.

Bowen and Whitney also earned spots on the All-GAC First Team list. Bowen helped anchor and offensive line that helped ECU set season records for total offensive yards (4,942) and passing yards (3,541).

Whitney also earned a spot in the record book for the Tigers, breaking his own single season tackle record (113) and the career tackle record (318). He also contributed 3.0 sacks, 5.5 TFL and two interceptions.
