SHERMAN, Texas -- Hannah Bentsen is a senior at Texoma Christian School in Sherman who has a 3.75 GPA, is an active National Honor Society Member and is and is two time TAPPS Academic all state honoree.

"I wish I had more Hannahs, somebody who is always eager to be part of class, to be part of the school and always put her best foot forward," said Texoma Christian English teacher Sandy Truly.

And Bentsen knows how much her education means.

"Academics always come first with whatever you're doing in life, and sports will only get you so far but in the future, academics is always what ends up being most important."

"She hustles, this year she's leading the team, she's our senior leader and she's our go to player," said Texoma Christian Head Basketball Coach Mark Ellison.

And Bentsen has love her time on the team.

"I not only have fun, but I have fun with the people I with. I enjoy doing what I do, and why would you play it if you don't enjoy it."

Hannah is hoping to major in nursing and play basketball once she's graduated from Texoma Christian.
