Earlier this year, former Austin College baseball player Justin Frost was tragically killed in a car accident on February 28. Shortly after, the Justin “Frosty” Frost Memorial Baseball Fund was established, and next Saturday as the ’Roo football team takes the field for Homecoming, friends and family members of Frost’s will be presenting a gift of funds raised to date to the Austin College athletics department.
A star pitcher both in high school in Gilmer as well as at Austin College, the Justin "Frosty" Frost Memorial Baseball Fund will carry on Justin's legacy, with all proceeds going to support the Kangaroo baseball team.
Justin was a three year letter-winner for the 'Roos, and during the team's run to the conference championship in 2007 was third on the team with four pitching victories. In 2006, he had five victories on the mound, the second best total on the team.
The Justin “Frosty” Frost Memorial Fund remains open, with all proceeds going to benefit the Kangaroo baseball and softball programs. Donations can be made online here:
The presentation on Saturday will be made between the first and second quarters of the Kangaroo football team’s game against Southwestern, which begins at 1:00 p.m. at Jerry Apple Stadium. We ask all friends and family of “Frosty” to join the Frost family, Kate Bailey and current members of the softball and baseball teams for this special presentation.
