Lady Tiger golfers in 16th place after one round of Drury Tourney

The East Central University women’s golf team, playing in its first tournament of the fall, sits in 16th place after one round Monday of the Drury University Fall Shootout at the par-72 Silo Ridge Country Club.
ECU’s best finisher after one round is Emily Wharton, who shot a 10-over-par 83 and is tied with six others for 39th place. Teammate Megan Dutton is tied with seven others for 50th place after shooting an 85.
Also for the Lady Tigers, Ilissa Jaggers is tied for 72nd with an 89; Lindsey Lunceford is tied for 94th with a 97 and Ashley Cardwell is tied for 96th with a 98.
Dianne Luke and Kim Thomas, both of California University (Pa.), are tied for first after each fired a 1-over 73. Drury’s Katrina Choate is one shot back on the leaderboard after shooting a 74 on Monday.
California (Pa.) leads in the team standings with a 302, followed by host Drury (305), Augustana College, S.D. (314), Concordia-St. Paul (322), Harding (324), Maryville (326), Arkansas Tech (327), Nebraska-Omaha (331) and Upper Iowa (335).
Three teams – Southern Indiana, Rockhurst and Missouri Western State – are tied for 10th with a 336. Truman State is 13th at 337, followed by Lincoln (344), University of Sioux Falls (352), ECU (354), William Jewell College (362) and Quincy University (382).
The second and final round is scheduled for Tuesday at the Silo Ridge Country Club in Bolivar, Mo.
