OU hoops coach Coale to receive a UN peace award

Oklahoma women's basketball coach Sherri
Coale will be presented a peace award from the United Nations.
Celebrate Positive announced the honor on Monday. The group says
the U.N. NGO Positive Peace Award recognizes individuals,
businesses, athletes, sports teams, entertainers and schools around
the world for positive contributions.
Coale received the inaugural award in the sports coach category.
She had been nominated by Journey Church in Norman for her
program's efforts to aid earthquake victims in Haiti.
She says the honor is "really a program award" and that she's
proud of her current and former coaches and players "who continue
to give back and lead through service in their respective
communities."
Coale will be presented with the award Wednesday before the
Sooners' game against Kansas State.
