Sherman's Patterson Comes to Town

Bill Patterson, the new head coach of the Sherman Bearcats, is ready to go.

Patterson, who was hired Monday, visited Sherman High School for his first time as the Bearcats' head football coach Thursday afternoon.

He spent time meeting with all the athleric teams to help them understand the philosophy he was bringing to the athletic program. He was pleased with how he was received.

"Everybody's friendly and wants to move forward in a positive direction. The administration has bent over backwards to make things easy for me. I'm just excited about that," said Patterson.

And he's ready to hit the ground running.

"I need to get my staff set, get my coaches coaching the right things and moving in that direction. I'll bring in some new coaches, that's just the way it is. Hopefully I will bring in a couple of guys pretty soon. "

Patterson officially starts at Sherman on Monday.
