Post Season Honors Continue for ECU Football

The East Central University football team continues to receive post season honors, with the announcement of the Beyond Sports Network and Don Hansen All-Super Region 3 teams. The Tigers saw three named to the BSN teams and two to the Don Hansen teams.

Senior Daniel Holland and junior Travis Hening were honored by both teams; with Holland earning second team defensive honors to both and Henning third team offensive honors on both. Senior JoJo Snell was also named to the BSN offensive third team.

Holland picks up his third and fourth honors for the season, as he was also named to the 2014 Daktronics All-Super Region 3 Defense Second Team. The Miami, Fla., native was sixth on the team with total tackles (22-21=43) and led the team and the Great American Conference with 14.5 sacks (95 yards). The 2014 All-GAC First Team selection, added 18.5 (118 yards) tackles-for-loss, two forced fumbles, one fumble recovery, six quarterback hurries, one pass break up and one pass defended.

Hening claims his third and fourth honors for the season after being named to the All-GAC First Team and an AFCA All-America pick.

The Yukon, Okla., native was a 2014 Preseason USA College Football All-America Third Team pick and has been a starter for ECU for the past three seasons. In 2014, Hening averaged 72.6 players per game from the line of scrimmage, helping to protect the Tiger quarterbacks. That protection resulted in only one sack allowed in over 375 passing attempts. The ECU coaches credited him with over 25 knock downs and pancakes.

Snell finished the season with 1,482 all-purpose yards (148.2/gm). The Moss Point, Miss., native rushed for 790 yards and scored six touchdowns, 159 yards receiving and 533 yards on kick returns. He has recorded over 200 all-purpose yards in two games this season and over 100 in five more.
