Pottsboro set to take on White Oak

The seventh ranked team in Texas Class 3A, Pottsboro, continues to roll on into the Area Round.

The Cardinals earned the 49-0 shut out victory over Commerce in the Bi-District round, but they did suffer a major loss to their offense. Quarterback Zane Pritchett went down with an ankle injury early in the game and is a game time decision this week against White Oak.

"We're preparing right now for him not to be with us," Pottsboro Head Coach Matt Poe said. "Carson Rein stepped in Friday and did a great job as the backup quarterback. We are able to run our offense and do everything we did with Zane, with Carson, so it doesn't change what we do at all."

If the Cardinals go with Rein, he will see a stout White Oak defense that's giving up just 8.8-points a game.

Kickoff is scheduled for 7:30 Friday night at Terrell High School.
