Ringling set to take on Thomas Fay Custer

The Ringling Blue Devils haven’t skipped a beat under first year head coach Steve Justus, they roll into round two of the playoffs win an unscathed record.

“They love to win and whenever they see that your schemes are going to allow them to have a chance, these kids get excited about it and they’ve bought in,” Justus said. “It’s a great place to be.”

With a new coach came a new offensive philosophy at Ringling. The Blue Devils went from a ground and pound team to a spread attack, but an early injury to Rickey Lewis, their quarterback to start the year, the Blue Devils had to rely more on their run game.

With Lewis out, junior Rickey Swindler has stepped in at quarterback.

"It took us a couple of weeks to find out what his strengths were,” Justus said. “He's done a great job. He does a good job for us out of the spread and under center. So we feel like we are pretty diversified in what we can do."

Kickoff is set for 7:30 p.m. Friday at Blue Devil Stadium.
