BROKEN ARROW, Okla. – Southeastern women's tennis saw its 2015-16 season come to an end in the Central Region I finals on a 5-1 loss to No. 11 ranked and top-seeded Northeastern State on Monday afternoon at The Club at Indian Springs in Broken Arrow, Okla.
The match was moved to an indoor facility after weather looked to force delays throughout the day.
The loss drops the Savage Storm to 14-4 overall on the season and ends their winning streak at 12 matches.
Conchi Assiego and Maria Martinez clawed out a 9-7 win at number three doubles to help SE come out of doubles play trailing just 2-1 after losses at the top two positions.
The Storm never found its footing in singles play, with Darija Catipovic falling at two singles first for a 3-1 deficit.
Neither Assiego nor Martinez were unable to carry any momentum over from their doubles win as they fell at six and three, respectively to fashion the 5-1 final.
