Fresh off a 37-27 win over rival East Central in the Great American Classic, Southeastern has a pair of players earn weekly honors as Kent London is the Great American Conference Defensive Player of the Week and Joel Carlos is the Special teams Player of the Week.
The Savage Storm wrapped up the season with a three-game winning streak that culminated in Saturday's win over ECU which secured SE its second-straight winning season and a 47-46-6 lead in the all-time series.
London led a defense that made plays when it needed to. He snagged a pair of interceptions on the afternoon, both coming with the Tigers in the red zone in the fourth quarter. He also added eight tackles. His efforts earned him Landmark Bank Player of the Game honors for Southeastern.
With the two picks on Saturday he has five interceptions over the last three games, with three of them coming in the endzone.
Carlos accounted for 13 of Southeastern's points on Saturday, connecting on all four of his PAT kicks and adding his first three-field goal game. He hit from 25, 35 and 43, with the 43 yard kick being the longest of his career.
With the win, Southeastern finishes the season 6-5 and has back-to-back winning season for the first time since 2008 and 2009.
