"Slim" Perkins ready for Thunder camp

The new, leaner Kendrick Perkins is just as mean.
Perkins dropped about 30 pounds to get back in shape after
missing most of last season following knee surgery. He has reported
to Oklahoma City's training camp looking like a far different
player.
Coach Scott Brooks says one thing Perkins hasn't lost is his
tough-guy mentality. Perkins brought the Thunder a rugged interior
presence after coming over from Boston in February, then helped
Oklahoma City reach the Western Conference finals.
Perkins says he was up to 298 pounds at the end of last season
and had hoped to get down to 275 in time for training camp. He
ended up losing more during the extended offseason and reported at
267 pounds.
