Southeastern Hosts SNU for Four-Game Set

No. 5 Southeastern will be looking to dodge rain showers and get in a four-game home series against Southern Nazarene set for March 22-23 at the Southeastern Softball Field.

The Savage Storm comes into the weekend with a 25-6 record and a 10-2 mark in Great American Conference play.

SE opened the conference schedule with a sweep of Southern Arkansas and added a sweep of Arkansas-Monticello to its resume this past weekend and sandwiched a series split on the road with Henderson State between the two.

The Storm comes in on a four-game winning streak and boasts an 8-2 record in its last 10 games.

Southeastern also maintained its No. 5 national ranking for the second-straight week and has now been ranked in the top five in the poll for five consecutive weeks.

Southeastern's pitching staff comes into the contest with a 2.78 ERA combined, but is paced by current GAC Pitcher of the Week Jacee Bennett who is 14-3 on the year with a 2.72 ERA and 104 strikeouts. She has also posted a team-high six saves and is holding opposing hitters to a .265 batting average.

Mindy McElroy leads the club with a 1.77 ERA and is 10-2 on the year with four saves and 49 strikeouts.

Offensively, Courtney Moore has pushed to the top of the stat sheet with a .386 average to go with four home runs and 24 RBI, both of which also lead the team.

Jessica Simmons checks in at .340 on the year with team-highs of 35 hits and 29 runs scored as well as a GAC leading 24 stolen bases.

Southern Nazarene comes into the weekend with a 10-18 record overall and a 4-12 mark in league play.

The Crimson Storm has lost three-straight and eight-of-its-last-10.

SNU is hitting .312 as a team on the season and is led by Kylie Lang who is batting .413 on the year, while four others are batting better than .300.

Amy Madden leads the team in home runs and RBI with 9 and 29, respectively.

The pitching staff carries a combined ERA of 5.53, led by Maci-Brooke Lambert who is at 5-9 on the year with a 4.06 ERA and 49 strikeouts.
