Southeastern Men's Tennis Picked 2nd in GAC Poll

Southeastern's men's tennis program has been picked to finish second in the Great American Conference preseason poll released on Tuesday by the league office.

The Savage Storm open the spring season just behind Ouachita Baptist who was picked to win the conference.

SE picked up seven points in the poll of the league's four teams and one of the possible four first place votes. OBU collected the remaining three first place votes and a total of nine points.

East Central and Harding finished tied for third in the poll with four points each.

Southeastern enters the championship portion of the year ranked No. 40 in the nation and sixth in the Central region according to the ITA preseason national and regional polls released in November.

The Storm was 2-0 in its head to head matches in the fall and featured several strong showings at individual tournaments, sending a player to a flight final in every event played in.

SE will open the spring season on Feb. 6 with a trip to Dallas, Texas, to take on D-I Southern Methodist at 2 p.m., and will open the home portion of its spring on March 3 when it hosts Dallas Baptist at 2 p.m.
