Specialty beverages recalled in these states for salmonella risk
(Gray News) - Several specialty beverages sold in 25 states were recalled because they may have been contaminated with salmonella.
SKS Copack recalled lots of its specialty beverages because of a recall initiated by a third-party supplier.
The Food and Drug Administration said in a press release that the company was notified by its supplier that California Dreams Inc. had recalled its milk powder after it tested positive for salmonella during routine testing. SKS Copack ceased distribution of its affected products and is working with the FDA during the agency’s investigation.
The recalled products were sold under the brands Angel Specialty Products, Boba Time, Royal Gold, FANALE and DENDA. The products, which include powdered mixes for tea and coffee beverages such as matcha green tea, caramel latte and milk tea, can be identified by the lot code on the back of the products.
The specialty beverages were sold through cafes, restaurants and direct delivery online. They were sold in California, Utah, Idaho, New York, New Jersey, Arizona, Pennsylvania, North Carolina, Texas, Ohio, Louisiana, Georgia, Florida, Illinois, Oklahoma, Massachusetts, Washington, Oregon, Wisconsin, Nevada, Virginia, Connecticut, Tennessee, Kentucky and Minnesota.
No illnesses have been reported in connection with the recall.
Customers are asked to return the recalled products to the place where they purchased them for a full refund.
The California Dairies Inc. recall has spurred a string of product recalls, including potato chips, seasoned croutons, seasoning blends and popcorn seasonings.
