Firefighters rescue Santa Claus after he got stuck rappelling down building at holiday event

NORWALK, Conn. (WFSB/Gray News) – A holiday event in Connecticut took a turn when Santa Claus got stuck on the side of a building and had to be rescued.

Firefighters responded to the Norwalk Holiday Extravaganza for reports of the man dressed as Santa Claus stranded 60 feet above the ground.

The Santa was attempting to rappel down the side of the 13-story building when part of his costume became tangled in the rigging, leaving him suspended and unable to move.

Rescue crews were able to reach the man through a sixth-floor window. Firefighters removed the window to safely get the man into the building.

Officials said no one was hurt.
