Two people were arrested for animal cruelty to non-livestock animals after an alleged puppy mill was discovered in Honey Grove.
Cindy Oliver and Mitchell Gilbert face up to 140 counts of the animal cruelty charge -- one for each animal. If found guilty, they could face jail time.
Around two weeks ago, 117 dogs, 21 puppies and two cats were seized from a property off Martin and Commerce.
The SPCA said the animals were suffering various health issues, including matted fur, dental and ear issues, and even tumors.
This past week during a custody hearing, a Fannin County Judge ordered the animals to stay in the SPCA's custody.
